Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that powers that tool. The provider processes the request under its own policy and returns the result. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you communicate with us by email, the message and reply details may be retained so the request can be handled. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless a lawful obligation requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary server and analytics logs may record technical facts when a page loads:
- Page-view dates, times, and duration
- Device type and operating system
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Pages viewed during the visit
- A referring website, when supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies can help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Analytics services may process those signals for us. Most browsers let a user block or remove cookies, although a search or other site function may work differently afterward.
What We Do With This Data
- Measure which Ozark County resource pages are useful
- Route a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Maintain site performance and availability
- Diagnose errors and security issues
- Display and assess advertising
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not build, keep, or sell a database of named criminal histories. Ozark County reports and court files remain with the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, or creating agency. Missouri repository information is disseminated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division under the Missouri Central Repository framework in sections 43.500 through 43.543, including section 43.530. Public records held by government bodies are governed by the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610. Those laws do not turn this private website into a records custodian. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes that appear on some pages. A provider's own privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices apply to data sent through its tool. Review those terms before submitting information because we do not control the provider's processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Ozark County government portal, Missouri Case.net, MACHS, the Missouri Sex Offender Registry, other government resources, or an outside service. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's policy governs that visit. Read it before providing personal details.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites or select ads. Their systems control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell visitor personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a query sent to their tool
- Advertising networks serving or measuring ads
- A court, law-enforcement body, or other authority acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so loss, misuse, or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, it may be removed as the law requires.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on the law that applies to the visitor and the particular data. A person may ask us to:
- Describe or provide personal information held about that visitor
- Correct inaccurate visitor information
- Delete visitor information when no legal need requires retention
- Honor an available opt-out right for covered processing
Chapter 610 governs access to records held by Missouri governmental bodies, including the Ozark County offices described here. It does not create a general visitor-data right against this private website. Criminal-history dissemination by MSHP follows the separate Missouri Central Repository statutes and their open or closed record rules.
Updates to This Policy
